My husband and I left for our vacation today. Before we left, we set up water fountain, automatic feeder and a camera for our cat. I

The first vacation when we got her, our friend took her to her place as she is a very social cat and doesn't mind it. We have

weekend getaways where we ask friends to check up on her. This is the second time we are gone for

a very long time but we arranged for our friends to come and visit her.

My heart is just breaking into pieces seeing her crying and waiting for hours by our front door. I am also worried that she

will jump on the handle and could open it (our door is automatic like that and we can't

request to get a bolt outside coz of the apt restrictions).

Just wanted to share my feelings and if you have some advises to give to make me feel less sad for my baby.

asking friends to stay overnight or hiring a cat sitter?

outside and not worry about what I can't do in the moment. I hire a nanny and trust both my cats will be fine.

my train of thought is: If I leave my home for a long period of time to rest or have a good time, and I'm

worrying about not being at home but won't return either, then it just doesn't make any sense to leave the house in the first place. My

cat is already stressed, but me worrying about it without being able to do anything is not going to help.
